This is the only photo I took of you,
my grandfather.
You were 89 and I was 19.
Now that you have left,
the ripples of your being
awaken in me an awesome
timelessness.
It has been an arduous journey
to claim the gifts
which you seeded in me.
You were a man
and I looked for you in other men.
Today I know that you live
in my own Soul.
